Why You Wanna Be My Enemy?
Discrimination and injustice
Where would you be
If your family journeyed through Jim Crow and Slavery?
Why you wanna be my enemy?
You’re still the enemy
We’re still on the battlefield
Don’t fly that flag in front of me
It’s all pain and misery
Shame on you
And all who say nothing when you do
Look how long it took to see less of it
If its heritage, its hate.
Dominate
Alienate
How much more you?
The President shouldn’t have pardoned them so easily
Shame on you
Don’t lie to me
I know my history
See free journey
Let America be
What its suppose to guarantee
Ain’t no maybe
We want to see
All its glory (beauty)
Quit trying to keep people down
There’s nothing to debate
Can’t separate the heritage from the hate
In spite of all the history
You still want people to buy that story
So many ways to express heritage
And you wanna lift up your white privilege??
It’s not all up to you
People of color are southerners too
How dare you
Affirm
Why would you choose a symbol of bondage
in a terms of hate treason
bondage
This has to end
But I won’t hold my breath
i have to make this statement
as part of the 1st amendment
and also to tell my kids and grandkids
Do not let go of your peace!
just because someone wants to fight in the streets
how poor must they be
for that to be their reality?
Protect yourself; protect yourself
Do not become someone else’s doormat
While you take it on
You’ve also got to let it go
Cuz no man can bear all the world’s sorrows
So if you wish and you want
To stand out on the issue
Then do so very well
i’ll be there to support you
Make your statement make it clear
Then afterwards put it on the altar my dear
Cuz noone’s gonna live forever
We all ride the elevator
