A user on Reddit made what I consider to be a very wise comment regarding whether or not the origin of racism is always other people or not. This comment really opened my eyes. People, on account of being human, are susceptible to giving into temptation. The Reddit user indicated that some white kids, upon learning in school about the history of racial inequality AND upon seeing in society evidence of that inequality, learn that they have an opportunity to behave as a better-than. The ones who give into that temptation are not the result of a racist tradition. Them there racists is the natural home-grown variety.
